Experience instead of Accommodation

House Warming Party in PARIS on June 15, 2017

Founded in August of 2008 and based in San Francisco, California, Airbnb is a Community Marketplace and Hospitality Service for People to List, Discover, and Book an Accommodation around the World (Online or from a Mobile Phone or Tablet in more than 65,000 Cities and 191 Countries). It enablles People to Lease or Rent short-term Lodging including Vacation Rentals, Apartment Rentals, Homestays, Hostel Beds, or Hotel Rooms. The Company does not own any Lodging; it is merely a Broker and receives Percentage Service fees from both Guests and Hosts in conjunction with every Booking…. Now, Airbnb is transforming itself from a Rental Company into a Travel Agency…

– Neighborhoods Travel Guide : The future of Travel

‘Neighborhoods’ is a travel guide that provides in-depth Information for Selected neighborhoods in 23 major Cities through Photos, Essays, Maps, Tags from Locals, and Assessments of Various Criteria that would be of interest to Guests such as Public Transportation, Dining, Peace & Quiet, Nightlife, Tourist Attractions, and Shopping, thereby helping Travelers choose the Ideal Neighborhood to stay in via Collaborative Filtering.

The San Francisco-based Company upended the Hotel Business by letting Homeowners and Leasers Rent out Rooms and Houses. Now, it’s trying to do the same for the Travel and Tourist Industries. The Initiative is called ‘Airbnb Trips’ and provides the Company a Way to offer an Experience instead of an Accommodation.

The goal is to broaden the range of services Airbnb hosts can offer. That way, more travelers think of Airbnb as a destination for finding cool stuff to do in a new city and not just a place to sleep. irbnb Trips opens up the possibility that hosts could also offer rides to specific places, putting it in slight competition with ride-hailing apps like Uber and Lyft.

Still, in moving from Accommodations to pretty much any kind of real-world Service, Airbnb is opening itself up to all sorts of complications. It’s unclear how it will validate new offerings, gauge the expertise of both Hosts and Guests if activities are life-threatening, or protect against scams and rip-offs. Anyway, with Trips, Airbnb happens to be going head-to-head with Industries almost as powerful than the Hotel Industry. And its next challenge is to convince People to offer and sell Themselves and their Services, and not just their Homes…

Art Deco is a style of Visual Arts, Architecture and Design that first appeared in France just before World War I. Art Deco influenced the design of Buildings, Furniture, Jewellery, Fashion, Cars, Movie Theatres, Trains, Ocean Liners, and everyday Objects such as Radios and Vacuum Cleaners.

It took its name, short for Arts Décoratifs, from the ‘Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes’ (International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts) held in Paris in 1925. It combined Modernist Styles with fine Craftsmanship and Rich Materials. During its heyday, Art Deco represented Luxury, Glamour, Exuberance, and Faith in Social and Technological Progress.

Art Deco was influenced by the Bold Geometric Forms of Cubism ; the Bright Colors of Fauvism and of the Ballets Russes ; the Updated Craftsmanship of the Furniture of the Eras of Louis Philippe and Louis XVI ; and the Exotic Styles of China and Japan, India, Persia, Ancient Egypt and Maya Art. It featured Rare and Expensive Materials, such as Ebony and Ivory, and exquisite Craftsmanship.

Extension Of The Lobby

In the 1930s, during the Great Depression, the Art Deco style became more subdued. New Materials arrived, including Chrome Plating, Stainless Steel and Plastic. A more sleek form of the style, called Streamline Moderne, appeared in the 1930s ; it featured Curving Forms and Smooth, Polished Surfaces Art Deco is one of the first truly International Styles, but its dominance ended with the beginning of World War II and the rise of the Strictly Functional and Unadorned Styles of Modernism and the International Style of Architecture that followed.

The Hotel du Collectionneur Arc de Triomphe Paris bears the signatures of distinguished personalities : Stanislas FISZER for the Original Architecture, Layouts, Volumes and Façades, Jacques GARCIA and Alexandre DANAN for the Interior Design, and Olivier RIOLS for the Green Spaces. After years of research and work, with the help of Ruhlmann’s working drawings graciously provided by Emmanuel BREON, Curator at the Boulogne Billancourt Musée des Années 30 (Museum of the 1930s), the Hôtel du Collectionneur Arc de Triomphe Paris called on many Craftsmen for the bespoke Creation of each Decorative Element from Drawings or Photographs.

Unique Works of Art, bought at Auctions Worldwide, are on Display in the Hotel :

* Ruhlmann, Armand-Albert Rateau, Edgar Brant, Süe & Mare and Erté
* Sculpture by Martel, in the center of the lobby

The ‘Esprit de France’ Story began at the initiative of its founder, Christophe PALUEL-MARMONT who wanted to create a Club for Owners of Châteaux, Hotels, Manors, Country Homes and Estate Houses, gathered around a common Passion : Heritage, Art, and History. The ‘Esprit de France’ Residences and Hotels are all located near places of Art and History, claiming to introduce a cultural dimension offering their guests a ‘Unique Experience’. 40 are the Members of ‘Esprit de France’ in 2017. LE CASINO MONTE-CARLO

Visiting MONACO, you can not miss The Casino de Monte-Carlo which attracts an international clientèle thanks to history, legendary décor and full range of table games and slot machines. It is one of the oldest as its inauguration dates back to February 18, 1863. It is also one of the most representative examples of Belle Epoque architecture, which was first seen during the reign of Emperor Napoleon III. The first stone was laid by Prince Albert I in the presence of Prince Charles III on May 13, 1858.

The name ‘Monte-Carlo’ (the Ligurian translation of ‘Mount Charles’), in honour of the Sovereign, Prince Charles III, first appeared in 1866. Two years later, the railway reached Monaco, finally bringing a large number of visitors and gamblers. In its gaming rooms, the Casino de Monte-Carlo offers the European Roulette, Trente et Quarante, Black Jack, English Roulette and Ultimate Texas Hold’em Poker tables. And if you’re torn between tables and slot machines, the machines in the Salle Renaissance and the Salle des Amériques will satisfy you. The man behind this world-renowned gaming centre, without which the layout and particularity of this country would simply not be the same, is François Blanc, founder of the Société des Bains de Mer.

Inauguration back to February 18, 1863

Images of the Casino de Monte-Carlo, one of the oldest casinos in existence, have toured the world through the press, cinema, literature, internet and the Formula 1 Grand Prix. It would be an almost impossible task to list all the people that have contributed to making the Casino de Monte-Carlo and its famous roundabout a historical landmark for tourism and entertainment.
* L’ATRIUM
It is a magnificient vestibule with 28 llonic, marble colums supporting a balustraded balcony that is lit by remarkable bronze chandeliers.

* LA SALLE RENAISSANCE
It is the imposing vestibule a the entrance to the salle Europe. It is one of the oldest rooms in the Casino, transformed in 1968; it was completely renovated in 2012 and now houses the slot machines.

* LA SALLE EUROPE
The first gambling lounge was built by the architect Dutrou in 1965. In 1878, it was transformed by Charles Garnier to the ‘Salle Mauresque’, and then completely rebuilt in 1898 by Henri Schmidt. Following its restoration in 1968, it became known as the ‘Salle Europe’. It was completely renovated in 2012 and it now houses the American games. It is lit by 8 monumental Bohemian crystal chandeliers that weigh more than 150 lg each. All the works were painted in 1898.On the left is the ‘Blue Train’ restaurant, which was inaugurated in 1988. Its decor is a reproduction of a dining room on the wagons-lits during the Belle Epoque period, down to the smallest detail.
* SALON ROSE
This room was commissioned by Mr. Camile Blanc and designed and built by Henri Schmidt in 1903 for gamblers who could not refrain from smoking. At the time, smoking was forbidden in the gambling rooms. The painter Massimo Gallelli drew buxom nudes with impressive cigarillos on the ceiling. The lounge was completely renovated in 2011 and it now houses a restaurant.
* LA SALLE DES AMERIQUES
Previously known as the ‘Garnier Gambling Lounge’, this room was built by Charles Garnier and inaugurated in 1881. It was transformed in 1969 by the decorator, André Levasseur and since been known as the ‘Salle des Amériques’ following the installation of American games (craps, Black Jack…). The figures in the centre of each panel on the ceiling symbolise the seasons. The room was completely renovated in 2005 and now houses slot machines.
* LA SALLE BLANCHE
In 1903, Schmidt, the architect, has imagined having the light fittings borne by immense caryatids in the Salle Blanche, while a strange painting by the Parisian Artist, Paul Gervais stands out, representing the ‘Florentine Graces’ whose faces strangely resemble those of the highly desired Cléo de Méroden, Liane de Pougy and La Belle Otéro. This room was originally designed as a parlour. This room is now the throbbing heart of Monte-Carlo Casino, with its lounge bar and live music at week-ends.
* LES SALLES TOUZET
These rooms were built by the architect of the same name, Jules Touzet and they were inaugurated in 1890. These rooms are reminiscent of a somptuous station precinct which only issues tickets for dream destinations. The décor of the rooms is divides into three distinct sections forming a most harmonious whole. The wainscot panelling forms a solid base in a variety of colours, comprising a handsome mixture of oak, Tonkinese mahogany and Oriental jasper in warm shades. The walls are decorated with remarkable paintings.
